Our Ground
We believe sneakers should tell stories. Not loud ones. Real ones. At GIANT, every design begins with something authentic from Sri Lanka.
The colours, textures, and ideas are drawn from the island itself. A fruit growing in a backyard. A landscape that shaped our childhood. A moment that feels familiar to anyone who calls Sri Lanka home.
Each release becomes a chapter.
And like real stories, they are not repeated endlessly.
Every GIANT design walks its path once. Only a limited number of pairs exist before the herd moves forward to the next story.
Because culture is not built through repetition.
It is built through meaning.
Our goal is simple.
To build a sneaker culture that feels unmistakably Sri Lankan. One that carries our identity, creativity, and stories into every step.
The Herd Code
"Walk Your Ground"
It means standing rooted in where you come from.
It means moving forward without losing your foundation.
And it means creating with purpose, not noise.
Not loud. Just grounded.
The Beginning
It started far from home.
Two friends from the same hometown in Sri Lanka first knew each other as teenagers. Years later, both followed the same path that eventually brought them together again, this time travelling to Australia to continue their higher studies.
Living in Melbourne exposed them to something new. Sneaker culture was everywhere. It was more than footwear. It was identity, creativity, and storytelling. Different paths, different experiences, but the same quiet thought kept returning.
What could we build for the place we came from?
Sri Lanka carries a rich culture, powerful stories, and colours that deserve to walk into the world. Yet very little of it had ever stepped into sneaker culture. That idea slowly began to take shape.
Soon a third friend joined the journey. A graphic designer, DJ, and music producer who brought the creative perspective the idea needed, adding colour, direction, and imagination to what was becoming more than just an idea. Three different paths. One shared intention.
All three of us carried the same desire. To create something memorable. Something limited. Something that could make Sri Lankan people feel proud when they wear it. After many conversations, one idea kept returning.
Sneakers.
Not just another brand, but something that could carry Sri Lankan identity, creativity, and storytelling into a global culture.
That idea became GIANT.
